Volunteer with us for the Ireland Games 2026

By volunteering at the Ireland Summer Games, you will be a part of the largest inclusive sporting event taking place in Ireland in 2026!

You will have the opportunity to form new connections, see firsthand the impact of the Games, and learn about our talented Special Olympics athletes from across the island of Ireland.

How to Volunteer

Volunteers can sign up using our Volunteer platform. At your own pace you will be guided through every step of your volunteer journey from signing up to completing online training modules so you are fully prepared for Ireland Summer Games

1. Sign up

Register on our volunteer platform.

2. Choose your role

Select your preferred role and complete any vetting and safeguarding requirements

3. Prepare for your experience

Tell us the days you’re available to volunteer

4. Finalise your commitment

Volunteers must be aged 18 years or older at the time of registration to volunteer at the Games.

All information on the Ireland Summer Games including sign up is available via www.irelandgames.ie

There are multiple roles of various types available – Sport, Operations, Spectator Services, People Services, Safety, Media, IT support. You can browse roles on our volunteer page.

No previous experience is required. Training will be provided for your role.

Volunteers must be over 18 years of age at the time of registration.

Training relevant to your role will be provided.  

Vetting (Garda or AccessNI depending on your jurisdiction) along with Safeguarding may be required for your role. You will be guided through the volunteer journey for role.  

 Ireland Summer Games runs from 18th June 2026 – 21st June 2026. You can volunteer for all four days or choose the days that suit your schedule.

You can choose your Sport or Venue when you signup for Ireland Summer Games. More information on the venues and sport can be found on our Venues and Sport page

 T-shirts will be provided. You will be asked to specify your t shirt size when on your volunteer profile. 

 There is no transport provided to volunteer locations. Parking and public transport details are provided on our Venues and Sports page.

 Lunch and refreshments will be provided. 

 You will be part of a team, and your manager or coordinator will support you during your shift.

When you sign up for your role you will be provided with the information that is required for vetting and Safeguarding 

Due to vetting requirements volunteers must be resident in either the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland. 

When you sign up for your role you will be provided with the information that is required for vetting and Safeguarding. You should complete any required steps as soon as possible.

You can update or cancel your registration via your profile on the Volunteer platform.
